Matthew "Matt" Wayne Brown Sr., 48, of Burlington, died at 4:40 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born September 6, 1968, in Burlington, he was the son of Randall Lee and Patricia Ann Dowell Brown.
Matt was a union pipefitter and pipe welder.
He was a member of Pipe Fitters Local #125 of Cedar Rapids. Matt enjoyed riding motorcycles, rebuilding projects, welding to repair many metal projects, and enjoying time with his family and friends.
Survivors include four sons, Jeremie (Shayla) Long of Burlington, Corrie (Lisa) Long of Fort Madison, Matthew (Lexi) Brown, Jr. of Mt. Union, and Bryant (Ashley) Brown of Burlington; one daughter Stephanie (Scott) Long of Katy, TX; three brothers, Michael (Millie) Brown of Springfield, MO, Mark (Terrie) Brown of Burlington, and Randall (Mary) Brown of Burlington; one sister, Kelly (Mark) Bowman of Burlington; fourteen grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a special companion, Gina LeDuc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; one niece, Kelli Stevenson-Rollins; and his ex-wife, Shanna Brown.
Visitation will be from noon until 8:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2016, at Prugh's Chapel, downtown Burlington.
The funeral service for Mr. Brown will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Prugh's Chapel with Reverend Shane A. McCampbell officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his name.
