Rolland Alfred Ebner, a well-known young man and life long resident of this city passed away Sunday morning, October 2, at 11 o'clock at the home of his father F. Ebner on South Main street.He had bee failing rapidly for the past three months but the insidious disease, cancer of the stomach, to which he finally succumbed, has been troubling him for a couple of years. "Rolla" Ebner as he was popularly known among his associates was born in this city on February 22, 1868. He attended the public schools and when he attained man's estate became associated with his father, Mr. F. Ebner and brother, C.F. Ebner in the well known firm of F. Ebner and Son, which closed out its business in the year of 1903. Since that time, when his health would permit, Mr. Ebner acted as bookkeeper for Nels Olsen. Mr. Ebner was a companionable young man, and had hundreds of friends in this city who will learn the news of his passing with sincere regret. He was married in 1892 to Miss Ida m. Blomer, was a loving husband and kind father, and his loss will be keenly felt in the little family circle. He is survived by his widow and three children: Ray, Norma and Harold. Other surviving relatives are, his father, F. Ebner, one sister, Nettie Ebner, and one brother, C.F. Ebner. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mr. F. Ebner. Deceased was a member of Black Hawk camp, W.O. W., and the Lone Tree Fishing and Hunting club.
