Caroline Siegle was born in Untertuerkheim, Vuertemberg, Germany December 28, 1845, and came to America with her parents when eight years of age. They lived in the east for some time and then went to Peoria, where the daughter was married to Charles H. Biklen, in May 1865. Then Burlington became Mrs. Biklen’s home and here she was a true helpmate to her husband, who died April 12, of this year, and an affectionate mother to her children, and a friend to all who needed aid or comfort. She was a faithful member of the Zion Evangelical Church, and there as wherever she was known, she will be missed indeed. Mrs. Biklen is survived by five children; Mrs. Phillip Blaufuss, or Denver, Iowa; the Misses Louisa and Matilda at home, and William and Herman Biklen, who are carrying on the business which their father established here in 1862.
