Obituary
Miss Mathilda Marie Biklen, a well-known member of the CH Biklen firm of this city, died in Burlington hospital yesterday morning at 5:40. She succumbed to an extended illness.
Born in Burlington, Miss Biklen lived in this city her entire life and until a few months ago took an active part in the business of the Biklen store company of which she was vice president. Ill health forced her to retire. She was the daughter of Charles and Caroline Siegle Biglen and resided at 517 South Seventh Street. Miss Biklen was a member of Zion Evangelical church and a valued member of the Service guild.
She is survived by two sisters, Louise Biklen of this city and Mrs. Phillip Bloufuss of Denver, Ia., and two brothers, William Biklen and Herman Biklen of Burlington. Her parents preceded her in death.
Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock funeral services will be conducted from the residence and interment will be made in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body will remain at the Burnett Wallen funeral home until 2:00 this afternoon at which time it will be taken to the home on South Seventh Street.
