Obituary
Henry F Bromann, 84-year-old retired post office official, died in Sacred Heart Hospital, Ft. Madison, at 5:55 am Tuesday, Sept. 21. His home was 501 Summer St.
He worked in the post office for 31 years, retiring as a post office Civil Service examiner; after retirement, he was employed at Burlington Sporting Goods Co.
The son of Fred and Dorothy Lauenroth Bromann, he was born March 13, 1892, in Burlington. He served in the Army in WWI and married Bertha Green Oct. 25, 1919, in Ottumwa.
He was an elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the American Legion and the Retired Civil Service Association.
Surviving: The wife; daughter, Dorothy Burgin, Burlington; two sisters, Lydia Cummings and Emma Ita, both of Burlington; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Prugh’s Chapel Thursday afternoon at 1:30. Elder Arnold Wiemann, assisted by Elder Dale Warner, will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Prugh’s Wednesday evening from 7:30 until 9:00 o’clock.
