Matilda "Tillie" Rose Brockway, 81, of West Burlington, died at 1:23 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born July 28, 1915, in West Point, she was the daughter of John H. and Josephine Schulte Link.
On June 20, 1939, she married Martin Stewart Brockway at St. Mary's Church in West Burlington. He died June 26, 1996
Mrs. Brockway was a graduate of Marquette High School in West Point. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, Veteran's of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary and
Burlington Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Terry M. Brockway of Carman, Ill., James and Mark Brockway, both of Burlington; one daughter, Karen B. Drish of West Burlington;
eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Valerie Ricks of West Burlington.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Visitation will be after 8 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends following a 7 p.m. Christian wake service until 8:30 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Sterling officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove
Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for St. Mary's Catholic Church and the local Arthritis Foundation.
