Naoma J. Bristol, 70, of 715 Shoquoquon Drive, Burlington, died at 5 am Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born March 28, 1927, in Barnes City, she was the daughter of Guy and Edith M. Carver Kirby. She married Oscar Swan. He preceded her in death. She later married William Bristol. He died in 1991.
Mrs. Bristol was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints of Burlington.
Survivors include six sons, David Swan, Bradley Swan, and Thomas Swan, all of Burlington, Robert Swan of San Antonio, Geoffrey Swan of Deer Lodge, Mont., and William Bristol of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three stepson, Kenneth Swan of Burlington, Junior Swan of Chillicothe, Iowa, and Fred Bristol of Columbus, Ga.; three daughters, Carol Kingery of Newton, Connie Closser of Floris and Teresa Buck of Burlington; one stepdaughter, Rena Bristol of Columbus, Ga.; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides both husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and one son.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 pm Sunday in Prugh’s Chapel.
The funeral for Mrs. Bristol will be at 1 pm Monday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, with Bishop GM Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
