Mrs. Bertha E. Bowman, 77, of 801 South Street, died at Mercy Hospital at 4:10 pm Friday after a lingering illness.
Born in Unionville, Mo., Jan. 31, 1860, she came to Burlington, with her parents as an infant and had resided here ever since. On April 3, 1883, she was married to James A. Bowman in Burlington. Mrs. Bowman was a member of Grace Methodist church.
Surviving are two children, Fred A. Bowman of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. L.L Brooks with whom she lived; two grandchildren, Mrs. Joseph Rump and Louis Brooks; and one brother, Charles Parr of Livermore, Calif. Her husband preceded her in death.
Services will be held from Prugh’s chapel at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. E.L. Stone, pastor of Grace church. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
