Aletha Grace Brissey, 87, of Tacoma, Wash., formerly of Burlington, died at 7:20 am Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at Lakewood Health Care Center in Lakewood, Wash.
Born June 17, 1911, in New London, she was the daughter of Charles H. and Abolena Schmidt Brandmeyer. On April 5, 1959, she married Albine Brissey in Burlington. He died Sept. 11, 1977.
Mrs. Brissey was a homemaker and worked for Gnahn’s bookstore in Burlington for 16 years.
She was a member of the National Air Force Mother’s Club (1950s) and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include one son, Charles Eccles of Tacoma, Wash.; two step-daughters, Lillan Storks of Albuquerque, NM; and Dorothy Bloom of Wichita, Kan.; one stepson, Kenneth Brissey of Burlington; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one niece.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation will begin after 10 am Sunday at Prugh’s Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Monday.
The funeral for Mrs. Brissey will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Prugh’s Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Dye officiating. Burial will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
