Mrs. Ellen Hannah Aschoff, 58, former Burlington resident, died Thursday of a heart attack in St. Mary's hospital, Long Beach, Calif., it was reported locally.The former Ellen Peterson, she was born Oct. 7, 1898, in Burlington, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew P. Peterson. She was married to Clifford T. Aschoff; they moved to Long Beach seven years ago. She was an active member of Messiah church while in Burlington, and was a member of the church choir. In Long Beach,she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, where she served as church secretary and was a parish worker. Surviving are her husband; three sons, Clifford Jr., Los Alamitos, Calif.; Andrew L. Springfield, Ohio, and Dr. Carl Aschoff, Cedar Rapis; a brother, Carl A. Peterson, Floral Park, N.Y., a sister, Mrs. Rose Hill, Burlington, and seven grandchildren. Her parents are dead. Brief services are scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Long Beach. The body will arrive here Tuesday morning, and services will be held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wallen's chapel, the Rev John L. Kindschuh officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
