Frank N. LaPoint, 69, former Burlington finance commissioner, died suddenly at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, at his home, 2500 Sunnyside. LaPoint, a native of Burlington, was assistant cashier at the Farmers & Merchants Savings bank for the past 11 years. For 19 years prior to that, held the city finance post. Born Dec. 25, 1889, at Burlington, he was married Jan. 22, 1930, at Burlington to Laura Baumberger. He was of the Baptist faith. LaPoint, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Moose and Izaak Walton league. Surviving are his wife; a half-brother, Joseph Meier, St. Louis; two half-sisters, Mrs. Elsie Wasson, Burlington, and Mrs. Goldie Stapelton, Lennox.Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wallen's chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove.
