Ruth Marie Bresch, 80, of Burlington, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Great River Medical Center's Klein Center in Burlington. Born May 12, 1927, in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Elmer and Jewell Vogt Mueller. She married Thomas A. Bresch. He died Jan. 25, 2007. Mrs. Bresch worked at Midwest Bakery (Vista) for 12 years, then Antenna Craft for 12 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. She was baptized in June 2007. She loved crossword puzzles, western and jazz music, reading and crocheting. Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. Bresch Jr. of San Diego, and Terry Woodyard of Glendive, Mont.; six daughters, Theresia McKelvey of Lompoc, Calif., Patricia Hingst and Carol Gerst, both of Burlington, Joyce Ahlschlager of Rockford, Minn., Judith Hutson of Winona, Minn., and Elizabeth Craig of West Brook, Maine; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Stanley Stratton of Burlington. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one daughter. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel. The graveside committal service for Mrs. Bresch will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Aspen Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. A memorial has been established for National Arbor Day Foundation.
