Mrs. Charles E Brooks, formerly of Burlington, died Sunday at the home of her daughter in Chicago, and the body was brought here for burial today in the Aspen Grove Cemetery. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3 o’clock from the home of Ben B. Poor, 614 Iowa St.
Mrs Brooks was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. GBP Carpenter; her grandfather, Judge Stockton, being one of the earliest and most prominent jurists in Burlington. She will be remembered by many friends in Burlington.
Surviving Mrs. Brooks are her husband, four daughters, and one son, who are as follows; The Misses Elsie and Ruth Brooks of Chicago; Mrs. Virginia Cox of Burlington; and Charles Brooks, Jr., of Davenport, Ia. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Walter Davis of Iowa City, Ia.
Mrs. Brooks was in her sixty-first year at the time of her death.
