Edyth Viola Bresch, 96, of Burlington, died at 5:30 am Monday, July 2, 2007, at her home.
Born Sept. 21, 1910, in Kingston, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Taeger Schmeiser. On May 4, 1958, she married Clement G. Bresch in Burlington.
She was a bookkeeper for Central Oil Co., Security Laboratory, and Folk Equipment Co. She graduated from Benton Township High School and attended one year at Burlington Business College. She was an active member of the Burlington Professional Women’s Association and Treasurer of the Human Concerns Committee of Des Moines County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Ida Belle Lewis Circle. She was active in Steamboat Days.
Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Lloyd Schmeiser of Burlington and Myron Sshneiser of Winfield; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
Friends may call this evening from 4 to 8 pm in Prugh’s Chapel. Visitation with family will be one hour prior to the services Thursday in Prugh’s Chapel.
The funeral for Mrs. Bresch will be at 11 am Thursday in Prugh’s Chapel with Rev. Charles Bowning officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
