Theresia Breckner, 71, of Burlington, died at 8:30 pm, Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at her home.
Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Deutsch Kalten Brunn, Austria, she was the daughter of Franz and Theresia Reichel Zupancic. On May 10, 1949, she married Paul H. Breckner in Graz, Austria.
Mrs. Breckner was a homemaker and community volunteer.
She graduated from high school in Weiz, Austria, and business college in Graz, Austria. She was of the Lutheran faith.
She was a member of Burlington Medical Center Auxiliary, Burlington Fine Arts League, and Des Moines County Medical Society Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Eva M. Adams of Boston, Mass., and Andrea S. Breckner of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Paul H. Breckner of Davenport and Christopher J. Breckner of Coralville; five grandchildren; and one sister, Friedel Gruber of Austria.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Mrs. Breckner will be 11 am Tuesday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Shirley Bliven officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
