Obituary
Mrs. George Bischoff, 99, one of Burlington’s oldest residents, died at her home, 523 South Street, yesterday morning after an illness of three weeks.
Coming here when she was only seven years old Mrs. Bischoff saw Burlington develop from a small village into a city. She remembered her youth clearly and talked interestingly of her early days here. She was one of the founders of Zion Evangelical Church.
Anna Juliana Dewein was born in Hergeseiler, Rhenish Bavaria, Germany, but came here as a small girl. Her marriage to Mr. Bischoff, who preceded her in death, took place Sept. 26, 1852. She is survived by five sons, two daughters, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bischoff will be held at the residence 523 South Street, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Friends are invited.
