David Walker, who died late yesterday afternoon at his home, No. 714 South Eighth street, was another of the old citizens of Burlington who has been closely identified with the growth of the city for the past fifty years. Mr. Walker came to Burlington in 1843 and for many years was associated with the old Orchard City Mills. He made Burlington his home almost continuously from that date. He was a man of sterling character, of more than ordinary intelligence and took a great interest n local and national affairs and the progress of the world in general. He retired from active business some years ago. His final illness to which he succumbed, though of short duration, was severe. Several children survive him, of whom Mrs. Kate Walker of this city is one.
