Mrs. Mae L. Madison, wife of Dr. H.L. Madison, died at Burlington hospital at 9:10 last night following a short illness. She was a graduate nurse and served in France during the World war. Mrs. Madison was born in Henderson county, Ill., Aug. 15, 1885, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Jamison Curtiss, members of two of Henderson county's oldest families. Both families came to Henderson county in 1834. Mrs. Madison graduated from the nurse's training school of Monmouth hospital, Monmouth, ill. She had lived in Burlington 15 years and prior to that time made her home at Monmouth. She married Dr. Madison at Memphis, Mo., seven years ago last April. She was a member of First United Presbyterian church at Monmouth, of the American Legion auxiliary and Mystic workers. Mrs. Madison is survived by her husband and two small children, Theodore C. and Pheobe Ann Madison. Three brothers and three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. T.P. Nolan of Biggsville, Mrs. H.A. McKeown of Gladstone, Mrs. Charles h. Cochran of Galesburg, L.W. Curtiss of Gladstone, G.A. Curtiss of Biggsville and J.E. Curtiss of Burlington. The body was taken to the Burnett-Wallen funeral home but funeral arrangements have not been completed.
