Harry J. Bergundthal died at his home, 613 South Twelfth street, Tuesday night at 10:50.
He was born June 18, 1874, in Bellaire, Ohio, coming to Burlington when he was about six years of age with his parents, the late John and Mary Bergundthal. The family settled near Wever, Ia.
Mr. Bergundthal was engaged in the general merchandising business in Wever for 18 years. Later he was employed by the Mississippi Power Co., Keokuk. Retiring from business sex years ago because of ill health, he moved to Burlington. He was a member of Wever Christian Church.
He was married to Miss Jessie McCash on Sept. 21, 1898, at the McCash home at Spring Grove. Surviving are his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Harry Jacobs.
Funeral services for HJ Bergundthal will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Prugh’s chapel in Burlington. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
