Obituary
Shirley J. Boyles, age 81, of Mediapolis, died Sunday evening, November 15, 2009, at Prairie Ridge Care Center. The daughter of John and Gertrude (Dennis) Rawson, she was born October 25, 1928, at Augusta, Illinois. On June 29, 1947, she married James Boyles at Burlington. She was a graduate of the Burlington High School. She was a member of the Mediapolis First United Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated daughter, a loving wife and Mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a talented cook and seamstress. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing bridge, golfing, and good times spent with family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. Survivors include her husband Jim, of Mediapolis; one son, Gregory and Janice Boyles of Burlington; two daughters, Gayle and Patrick Daly of Burlington, Linda and Jeffrey Krieger of Fort Myers, Florida; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson; one sister, Merle Holmes of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, with Rev. Brad Hansen officiating. Interment will follow at the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will meet with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for the benefit of the Prairie Ridge Care Center.
