Born in Keokuk, IA, she was the daughter of Joseph Charles and Ellen Hamilton Schmieg. She married Patrick Stanley Boyle on September 30, 1937, in Burlington at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Patrick; four sons, Dan Boyle of West Burlington, Dennis Boyle and Steve Boyle, both of Burlington, and David Boyle of Ankorage, Alaska; two daughters, Barbara Reeb of San Antonio, Texas, and Linda Boyle of Burlington; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Schmieg of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother. Mrs. Boyle was a homemaker. Along with her husband, she owned Flynn & Boyle’s Furniture City. She was a member of SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church. She loved flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family. A memorial has been established to SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church.
