Patricia Evelyn Boyle, 80, of Palatka, Florida, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Haven Hospice Care Center in Palatka. Born June 26, 1925, in Burlington, she was the daughter of James Alfred and Hazel Naomi McGregor Boyle. On December 23, 1944, she married Robert G. Bryan in Richmond, Virginia. They later divorced. He later died. Ms. Boyle taught art at Palatka High School for 30 years, and she was a great artist herself She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and attended St. Patrick's grade school. After graduating from Burlington High School she and a couple of friends went to Virginia to do war work. She later enrolled in Burlington Junior College and Kirksville Teachers College. She taught in Springfield for several years. Later she moved to an acreage in Palatka, Florida. She loved animals and cared for them to her dying day. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Carhoff of Mt. Pleasant and Dorothy Walz of Burlington; one sister-in-law, Clara Boyle of Burlington; 23 nieces and nephews; and special friends Joan and Don Johns and Jane Woodbury. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Claire and Betty Boyle and Louis and Edna Boyle; and nephew, James Boyle There will be no formal visitation, as per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Rev. Fr. William Wiegand will officiate, with inurnment in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Haven Hospice Care Center in Palatka, Florida.
