Harold L. Weiland, 47, 2500 Surrey Rd., died at University hospitals, Iowa City, Sunday at 5:45 a.m. He was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Mower county, Minn., the son of Adolph and Martha Schultz Weiland. He married Elisabeth Meyer in Stewartville, Minn., on May 20, 1947. Mr. Weiland was manager of Osco Drug store here and has been with the company 23 years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran church, Elks, B.P.O.E. no 84, American Legion, V.F.W., Chamber of Commerce and was a World War II Navy veteran. Surviving: The wife; a son, Kenneth Weiland, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Morocco; three daughters, Nancy and Sandra, at home, Mrs. David Yoder, Santa Ana, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Lanford Woodworth, Rochester, Minn.; two brothers, Elger Weiland, Stewartville, Minn., George Weiland, Aurora, Ill.; the mother,.Stwartville, and one granddaughter. Services: Wednesday, 2 p.m. Prugh's chapel, Rev. Mr. Frank F. Koepke; Aspen Grove cemetery.
