Esther May Bowman, 78, of Burlington, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born May 29, 1920, in Spring Grove, she was the daughter of William Edward and Lottie Jane Marsh McGinity. On May 21, 1937, she married
Harold Joseph Bowman Sr. in Burlington. He died Dec. 19, 1985.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and produce worker at Central Soya. She was a member of the SalvationArmy of Burlington. She enjoyed doing genealogy work.
Survivors include six sons, Richard Bowman Sr., Harold Bowman Jr., Jack Bowman and David Bowman, all of Burlington, Jerry Bowman of Davenport and Robert Bowman of Danville; one daughter, Margaret Krieger of Burlington; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Oscar McGinity and Curtis McGinity, both of Burlington; and two sisters, Emily Horn and Virgie Brown, both of Burlington. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will friends from 7 to 8 p.m
The funeral for Mrs Bowman will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, with IX Dan Sullivan officiating: Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington.
A memorial has been established.
