Shirley Jean Bowman, 66, of Burlington, died at 7 am Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at her home.
Born Nov. 25, 1937, in Lockridge, she was the daughter of Ralph and Kathleen McFadden Scearcy. On July 15, 1977, she married David W. Bowman in Burlington.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid wrestling fan. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Melvin Nichols of Mexico, Mo., and Rubin Bowman of Burlington; five daughters, Donna Nichols of Sereda, W.Va., Sherry Brueck, Margarita Nichols, Anita Nichols and Julie Hummer, all of Burlington; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 9 am to 4 pm Sunday at Hass Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm. Following visitation, the body will be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
