William A. Bowman, 74, of 15020 S. Roosevelt. died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. 1990, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Born July 21. 1916, In Burlington, he was the son of Ruben J. and Florence May Sheets Bowman. He married Emily McGinity in Burlington. He later married Betty Fenkert July 19, 1960, in Burlington. He attended schools in Mon• mouth, Ill.. and Burlington. He owned and operated B&B Auto Sales since 1961. semi-retiring in 1981.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Richard Oglesby, Lowell. and Billy Joe Bowman, Burlington; three daughters. Mrs. Shirley (John) Penny, Mediapolis, Mrs. Erma (James) Penrod, rural Gladstone, Ill., and Mrs. Dixie (Harvey) Winstead, Burlington; one brother, Donald Bowman. Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Frances i Bob) Shepherd, Mrs. Virginia (Oscar)
McGinity, and and Mrs. Margaret (Jim) Donlan, all of Burlington; 23 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Sunday With the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lunning Chapel. The service for Mr. Bowman will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel with Major Howard Palomaki of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
