Odessa Marie Bowers, 91, of 2148 12th St., Burlington, died at 9:14 pm Monday, June 3, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1904, in Powellton, Ill., she was the daughter of William Edward and Florence Gilbert Cable She married Clarence Bowers on March 4, 1922, in Burlington. He died on June 27, 1978.
Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, William Gene Bowers of Burlington and Robert Everett Bowers of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Alice Hester of Burlington; a half-brother, Harold Cable of Miami, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Prugh’s Chapel.
The funeral for Mrs. Bowers will be 1:30 pm Thursday in Prugh’s Chapel, with Chaplain David Mizon officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
