Marla Kay Moyers, 55, of Burlington, died at 10:52 PM Saturday, November 14, 2015, at her home.
Born March 23, 1960, in Rock Island, IL, she was the daughter of Larry Eugene and Norma Jean Legate Elliott. On April 28, 1978, she married Kenneth C. Moyers in Burlington.
Marla was a special education teacher at Fort Madison High School.
She was a 1978 graduate of West Burlington Arnold High School. She attended Southeastern Community College and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College Magna Cum Laude with a teaching degree.
She was a member of Divine Faith Ministry in Lomax, IL. She played piano and was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed time spent with her family and reading her bible. She also enjoyed crocheting, attending fairs, yard sales, and flea markets.
Survivors include husband, Ken; two sons, Jeremiah (Judith) Moyers of Dallas, TX, and Benjamin (Brittney) Moyers of Illinois; one daughter, Faith Moyers of West Burlington; one step-daughter, Gracie Moyers at home; 11 grandchildren, Trinity, Haley, Natalie, Dash, Madison, Lucas, Margaret, Alivia, Myah, Judah, Noah, and one due in July 2016; her mother, Norma Jean Elliott of West Burlington; one sister, Terri Elliott of West Burlington; one brother, Craig (Carol) Elliott of Cedar Rapids, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Joy Moyers, and her father.
Visitation will be from noon until 8:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, November 20, 2015, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Moyers will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home with Dr. Del Bittner officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Grace United Methodist Church following the burial.
A memorial has been established for her grandchildren's education.
