Harold R. Borden, 92, of Burlington, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Great River Medical Center Klein Center. Born Feb. 14, 1908, in Stoutsville, MO, he was the son of John and Ethel Dunneyhaur Borden. He married Marjorie Greb on Feb. 2, 1932, in Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Borden retired as a dairy worker at Sunshine Dairy. He had lived in Burlington since 1944. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Men's Club and Avesta Class of the Church, and the Moose Lodge. Survivors include one son, Edward Borden of Burlington; one daughter, Mildred Mellinger of Burlington; one brother, Leslie Borden of Monroe City, MO; four sisters, Vivian Carlson of Shelbina, MO, Nadine Shanhan of Denver, Colo., Gladys Patrick of Truth Or Consequences, N.M., and Fern Galvin of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Eicher-Sheagren Funeral Home. The funeral for Mr. Borden will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Grace United Methodist Church.
