Barbara Jean Borden passed away on April 22, 1994 at her residence located at 501 Ironwood St. in Burlington. She was 59 years old. Barbara was born on November 2, 1934 in Burlington and was the daughter of Carl R. and Lois McIntire Peterson. She married H. Edward Borden on August 8, 1954 in Burlington.
Barbara graduated from Burlington High School in 1952 and worked as a food service employee at Corse School for 18 years. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Her husband and two sons, Michael Borden of St. Louis, MO, and Alan Borden of Ottumwa, IA, along with three grandchildren and one sister, survived her. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
Visitation hours will be held at Lunning beginning at 8:00 a.m. where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Her final resting place will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor.
