Obituary
Mrs. Adella Rachel Boortz, aged 79, passed away at her residence located at 601 N. Sixth on Tuesday at 11:30 PM. She was born on August 13, 1888, in Lucas County. Her parents were David and Louella Miller Ballard. On November 24, 1910, she married Earnest A. Boortz in Creston. Her husband passed away on January 14, 1968. Mrs. Boortz was a member of the First United Church of Christ, the Women's Society, and the Loyalty Sunday school class of the church. She was also a member of the Sheldon Circle of Kings Daughters and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary. Mrs. Boortz is survived by her son, Dr. Dale Boortz of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in Prugh's Chapel. The service will be conducted by Reverend Donald V. Klohr, and the burial will take place at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
