Ruby Bonner, 83, of Danville, died at 5;36 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born September 19, 1923, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she was the daughter of William Alvin and Hester Jacob Hawthorne. On December 17, 1943, she married Thermon Vail Bonner in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Mrs. Bonner was an ACC clerk and worked at Burlington Medical Center for 42 years before retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the boat. She also enjoyed all crafts. Survivors include her husband, Thermon, of Danville; two daughters, Peggy (Larry) Beckham of Burlington and Deanna Burns (George Blatchford) of Norman, Oklahoma; one son Bob (Cheryl) Bonner of West Burlington; seven grandchilddren, Byron "Bryan" Tipton, Debbie Tipton, David, Michael and Larry D. II Beckham, and Jake and Zack Bonner; six great-grandchildren, Abigail Sue Beckham, Natalie Ann Beckham, Cody Beckham, Nicholas Beckham, Chance Tipton and Dekota "Cody" Tipton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paraents, nine sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel on Sunday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Bonner will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2006, at Prugh's Chapel, with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established in memory of Mrs. Ruby Bonner.
