Lynn Bonewitz Saar, 84, of Burlington, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at her home. Born May 30, 1919, in Greenfield, Mo., she was the daughter of William Noble and Mary Alice Cochran Holman. On Oct. 31, 1937, she married Edward L. Bonewitz in Leavenworth, Kan. He died Jan. 5, 1987. On Sept. 11, 1996, she married Jesse Lee Saar Jr. in New Brunswick, Canada. He died Jan. 1,1999. Mrs. Sarr was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She loved world travel, gourmet cooking and historic restoration. For more than 50 years she volunteered at Christ Episcopal Church and numerous other local charitable organizations. She was a member of Burlington Golf Club, New Crystal Lake and Carthage Lake Club. Survivors include two sons, Eric Holman Bonewitz of Overland Park, Kan., and James Christopher Bonewitz of West Tawakoni, Texas; one daughter, Judith Lynn Choice of Kansas City, Mo.; one foster son, William Duker Zachmeyer of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. There will be no visitation. The funeral for Mrs. Saar will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Patrick Genereux officiating. Private family burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery will be at a later date. A memorial has been established for Christ Episcopal Church Outreach Foundation.
