Bertha Lea Bonar 68, 2510 Irish Ridge Road, died at 11:55 am Friday, May 4, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Jan. 1, 1922, in Athens, Mo., she was the daughter of Ray O. and Nevada Badell Wilson. She married James A. Bonar on May 3, 1941, in Canton, Mo.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. She belonged to the Women’s Auxilliary of the Moose. She graduated from Fort Madison High School.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lea Anne (Gary) Kirby, Burlington; five sons, Tommy Bonar, Randal Boner, James Alan Bonar, all of Burlington, Perry Bonar, Iowa City, and David Bonar, Mountain View, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Fowler, Lincoln, Neb. and Mrs. Bethel, Iowa City; two brothers, Raymond Wilson and Merrill Wilson, both of Fort Madison; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon today and tomorrow. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Monday at Lunning Chapel.
The service for Mrs. Bonar will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Andrew Pate officiating. Burial will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Heart Fund.
