Volkmar "Zip" Zimmerman, 82, of Burlington, died Friday, May 24, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center Klein Unit. Born dec. 29, 1913, in Dresden, Germany, he was the son of Hugo and Liska Langers Zimmerman. On Nov. 3, 1945, he married Edith Mae Kuntz in Leavenworth, Kan. Mr. Zimmerman farmed north of Burlington and near Argyle from 1945 until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of DAV and enjoyed bowling in many leagues, golfing and reading. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dale Zimmerman of Estacada, Ore., and Wesley Zimmerman of Burlington; three grandchildren; and one sister, Hilda Lauber of Hot Springs Village, Ark. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel. A private committal service will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
