Albert Levi Zahn, 59, of Burlington, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, 1998, five miles north of Biggsville, Ill., as a result of a traffic accident. He wass born Jan. 26, 1939, at Iowa City, the son of John and Verna Rambo Zahn, On Nov. 20, 1967, he married Lois M. Cope in Moline, Ill. He was a truck driver and worked for L.W. Matteson Dredging and Construction and as a driver for Chittenden and Eastman in Burlington. He was a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force. He was a past member of the Burlington Gold Wing Club and a member of the Teamsters and Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Gold Wing Club. He was of the protestant faith. He is survived by his wife; one son, Patrick Zahn of Burlington' six daughters, Debbie Deen of West Burlington, Theresa Bennett of Orange Park, Fla., Donna Nixon of Brandon, Fla., Sandy Hutton of Cedar Rapids, Regina Jarvis of Bloomington, Minn., and Tammy Breuck of Burlington; four brothers, LaVerne Zahn of Grandview, Mich., Paul Zahn and Robert Zahn, both of Cedar Rapids and Walter Zahn of Shellsburg; five sisters, Mary Evans of Urbana, Lavon Lee of Vinton, Mardale Lint of Shellsburg, Hazel Rublack of Vinton and Lois Lee of Cedar Rapids; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother and three nieces. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral service for Mr. Zahn will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Schowalter officiating. There will be a private inurnment at a later date.
