Harry Zachmeyer, 67, Galesburg, Ill., died at 12:22 a.m. Monday in St. Mary hospital, Galesburg. He had been ill since Jan. 28. Zachmeyer was born Jan. 15, 1892 in Des Moines county and was married Dec. 1, 1914 in Burlington to Matilda Krehbiel. He lived 41 years in Galesburg and was a conductor on the Burlington line..He was a member of Sacred Heart church, Fort Madison; FOE 518, Galesburg; the Moose, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Surviving are his wife; a son, Cornelius, Monmouth; five brothers, Thomas of New London, Lester of Fairfield, Michael of Los Angeles, Calif., August of Davenport and Elmer of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Edith Niehaus, East Gary, Ind.; two grandchildren. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Corpus Christi church, Galesburg. The body is at the First & Puckett funeral home, Galesburg, where the Eagles lodge will hold a service at 7 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. The cortege will leave Galesburg on Thursday and will arrive at 11;30 a.m. in Burlington where burial will be held in Aspen Grove cemetery.
