Mrs. Edith Zachmeyer, 54, of 1728 S. 14th, died in University hospitals, Iowa City, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27. She was born Nov. 16, 1927, to Edward and Mary Barusch Oetken, in Burlington, where she married Dale Zachmeyer April 3, 1946. She worked in the Des Moines County treasurer's office for 24 years. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Surviving: The husband; her parents; brother Richard E. Oetken, Burlington; and sister Dorothy Gerdes, Burlington. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, the Rev. B. Lawrence Sweeney; Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial to Oak Street Baptist Church has been established.
