Morris L. Young, 79, of 211 S. 9th St., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center. Born July 9, 1910, in Boston, Iowa, he was the son of Herbert and Elizabeth Wilsey Elmer. He married Mary Thompson, May 31, 1950, in Burlington. He worked at Embalming Burial Case and at the Murray Trane shop. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Reeves of Burlington; one brother, Elmer Young of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sheagren Funeral Home. The service for Mr. Young will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sheagren Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
