Obituary
Mike Young, 55, of Burlington, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born November 24, 1953, in Burlington, he was the son of Bernard and Kathryn Wilson Young. Mr. Young was a self-employed contractor. He was of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed fishing, construction, and tinkering. Survivors include his companion, Sally Cline of Burlington; one son, Bradley Cline of Burlington; one grandchild; three brothers, Jim Young of Morning Sun, Bobby Young of Burlington, and Kirk Young of Eldora, Kan.; two sisters, Bernadine Murphy of Burlington, and Lorene VanEst of Tennessee; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The body will be cremated following visitation. The graveside memorial service for Mr. Young will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5th, in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the family in memory of Mike Young.
