James W. Bolander, 58, of Sturgeon, Mo., died Monday, June 26, 1989, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
Born April 1, 1931, in Stronghurst, Ill., he was the son of James H. and Helen Bolander. He married Mary Virginia Shaw on Aug. 4, 1949.
He was with the US Air Force from 1949 to 1971. He was employed in the engineering department with the Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Mo., before retiring in 1986 after 14 years. He was a member of the DMA Club, VFW, Post 280, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the Retired Enlisted Men’s Association, and the United Methodist Church, Sturgeon, Mo. He was a past president of the church’s men’s organization.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Walker, Scott Air Force Base, Ill, and Rebecca Sue Bolander, Richland, Mo.; six brothers, Tom Bolander, San Antonio, Texas, John Bolander, Abington, Ill., and Albert Bolander, Paul Bolander, Harry Bolander, and Wayne Bolander, all of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Brockett, Flat River, Mo., Mrs. Esther Reynolds, Burlington, Mrs. Hazel Dixon, Carman, Ill., and Mrs. Ruby Gott, Wapello; and one grandson.
Visitation will be until the time of service at the Meador and Son Funeral Chapel, Sturgeon, Mo.
The service for Mr. Bolander will be at 7 pm Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Sturgeon, Mo., with the Rev. Jesse Hood officiating. Burial will be at 10 am Friday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington.
