Obituary
Arthur Henry Yeiter, 96, of the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, April 8, 1991, at the home. Born April 8, 1895, in West Burlington, he was the son of Frederick and Mary Wittemeier Yeiter. He was a veteran of World War I, serving with Private Company C, 39th Infantry in France and was awarded the Purple Heart. Before retiring, he was a laborer at the J.I. Cast Company. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ at West Burlington and a 73 year member of the Eagles, VFW Veterans of World War I, D.A.V., the American Legion and Order of the Purple Heart. Surviving are on sister, Mrs. Alma (Joe)Kueser, Burlington; one niece, Mrs. Mary Ann (William) McIntosh, West Burlington; one nephew, Milton F. Yeiter, Burlington; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel. The service for Mr. Yeiter will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Robert Sherwood officiating. Burial, with military rites by VFW Post 10102 will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
