Martha Eunice Yard, 75, of 4694 Summer St., Burlington, died at 3;12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1995, at the Burlington Medical Center emergency room. Born Aug. 3, 1920, in Meridian, Miss., she was the daughter of Julian Thadius and Janie Laura Walker Suggs. She married Thomas M. Yard on Jan. 11, 1940, in Dubuque. Mrs. Yard was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was very active in the church's Christmas Bazaar. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas K. Yard of Beaverton, Ore., and James Allen Yard of Burlington; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Bricker of Des Moines and Deborah Holzhauer of Neosho, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and an infant son. Friends may call after noon today in Prugh's Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Yard will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Mel Miller officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
