Dale Bryant Yantis, 84, of Wever, died at 9:48 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington. Born Oct. 27, 1919, in Kirksville, Mo., the son of Edgar and Marie Wellborn Yantis. On Oct. 27, 1940, Dale married Helen Rebecca Yantis in Chillicothe, Mo. Mr. Yantis was a tool and die maker and part owner and operator of Riverside Plastics, Bonaparte, Ia. He attended Sunnyside Avenue Baptist Church in Burlington, and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Dale graduated from Kirksville High School and went to Northeast Missouri State for three years. He served in the Army during World War II. Dale was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be immensely missed by friends and family. Dale was truly one of God's greatest gifts. He cherished his personal relationship with his Lord. Dale enjoyed golf, Hunting, fishing, playing bridge and gardening. Dale and Helen celebrated 60 years of marriage a few months before her death in 2000. We praise the Lord for his time here on earth. Survivors include one son, Mike D. Yantis and his wife Cindy of Pocatello, Idaho; two daughters, Rebecca A. Galloway and her husband Duane of Strafford, Mo. and Sherry K. Kremheller and her husband Michael of The Woodlands, Tx; five grandchildren, David, Adair, Lisa Kremheller, Mike Kremheller Jr., Joh Yantis and Katie Yantis, one great grandson, Christian Meno; and one sister, Rexcine Watkins of Warrensburg, mo. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Helen R. Yantis; his parents; and one brother, Eldon Yantis. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends following Odd Fellow Rites at 6 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Yantis will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Maurice Moore officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Veterans Honor Guard of VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52 and the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League will conduct Military Rites. A memorial has been established for Sunnyside Avenue Baptist Church.
