Fred W. Yakle, 81, of 2830 Winegard Drive, Burlington, died Sunday, Nov. 2, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Sept. 29, 1905, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Dr. Luke and Sarah l. Pixley Yakle. On April 29, 1934, he married Mildred Robinson; she died June 22, 1982. He then married Irma B. Davis on March 28, 1983, in Kahoka, Mo. Mr. Yakle worked for USA Borax and for Sylvania. He was a member of Patriot Lodge, the National Council of Retired Citizens, American Association of Retired Persons, and a 50-year Moose member. Mr. Yakle was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Fred Jr., Mendon, Ill., and John, Liberty, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Sally Stout, iowa City, and Mrs. Pat Keener, Sedalia, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Pat Carter, Burlington; and 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Lunning Chapel after 7-8:30 p.m. Masonic services Tuesday. Services for Mr. Yakle will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Pate officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Dr. A.J. Cancer fund.
