Milford "Jack" Max Wooldridge, 83, of Burlington, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Burlington Care Center in Burlington. Born November 25, 1924, in Gulfport, Ill., he was the son of Orville and Nellie Hazel Root Wooldridge. On January 12, 1952, he married Esther Mathilda Schilb in Washington. Mr. Wooldridge was a graduate of Colchester, Ill. He owned and operated Wooldridge Trucking and Construction Co. for more than 50 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He attended Golden Oldies and enjoyed going to Catfish Bend Casino, playing blackjack and spending winters in Arizona. Survivors include one son, Ronald Wooldridge of Burlington; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Wooldridge of Phoenix, Ariz., Tom Wooldridge of Texas, and Glenn Wooldridge of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, his parents, three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The funeral with military rites for Mr. Wooldridge will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel,with the Rev. Frank Beaty officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
