Patricia Ann Boyd, 84, of Burlington, died at 1:53 AM Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Great River Klein Center.
Born July 28, 1932, in Iowa City, she was the daughter of George and Augusta Seibles Bartlett and her stepfather Albert Spooner. On September 21, 1951, she married Merle Keith Boyd in Burlington. He died on July 31, 1977.
Patricia worked for the Base Exchange in Oscoda, Michigan and retired as a civil servant from the IAAP.
She was a 1950 graduate of Burlington High School
She was of Catholic faith. Being a wife of a military man she enjoyed traveling the world with him. She enjoyed her European trips with her sister. She cherished time with her family
Survivors include two sons, John (Diane) Boyd of Burlington, and Mark (Cindy) Boyd of Nederland, TX; one daughter, Christina (Thomas) Frizzell of Brockton, MA; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dudley Spooner of Greenville, TN; four sisters, Marlene Voulelis of Boise, ID, Jackie Kudzinowski of Griffith, IN, Judy Fullerton of Clinton, Susan Higginbotham of Flower Mound, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Spooner, one sister, Georgia Richardson, two grandsons, Jacob Boyd and Daniel Diodati.
Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM with the family to receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Friday, November 4, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Boyd will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 4, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Shane A. McCampbell officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Special Needs Foundation of Des Moines County.
