Jean Marie Willis, 74, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Lexington Square Nursing Home in Keokuk. Born Sept. 12, 1937, in Hamilton, Miss, she was the daughter of Ollie L. and Nettie S. Dotson Littleton Willis. She married and later divorced. Ms. Willis was a graduate of Highland Park High School in Michigan. She was a CNA at Elm View Care Center in Burlington and a homemaker. She loved to cook and watch the cooking channel on television. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing, St. Louis Cardinal baseball games, and family gatherings. She was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Debra Willis Brandon of Burlington; one sister, Elizabeth Osborn of Burlington; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. No formal visitation is planned, but friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel. The funeral services for Ms. Willis will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Mix officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
