Ensign Wendell Eugene Wilson, 24, USNR, husband of the former Jane Bokenkamp, Burlington, was killed Tuesday afternoon in a plane crash near Pensacola, Fla., where he was an instructor in the navy air corps, relatives of Mrs. Wilson here were informed last night. Ensign Wallace Marion Moseley, 22, USNR, of Reed, okla., also lost his life in the crash which occurred four miles northwest of Pensacola. Wilson, the pilot, was killed instantly and Moseley died a short while later in the naval hospital, according to announcement by the Pensacola naval air station. Borth went to that air base in August from Corpus Christi, Tex., and each is survived by his widow, both of whom reside at Pensacola. Wilson was the son of Sheriff Roy Wilson, Wright county, Iowa, and Mrs. Roberta Wilson of Chicago. His widow in the daughter of Mrs. Helen Sheagren of Burlington and niece of Mrs. George B. Crow of this city. They were married July 28 at Corpus Christi, Tex., two days after Wilson received his wings. A short time later they visited in Burlington. Mrs. Sheagren was planning to go to Pensacola next week for a visit. Mrs. Wilson, graduate of the University of Iowa school of nursing, telephoned her mother and her aunt Tuesday night, advising them of the tragedy. She will come to Burlington Thursday night. Wilson's body will be brought here for burial and funeral services will be held at Prugh's chapel at a time to be announced later. Wilson, who formerly lived at Clarion, Ia., was graduated from the state university in June, 1941, and immediately enlisted in navy aviation. He was an instructor at Pensacola. Besides his widow, Ensign Wilson is survived by his mother and father, and a sister, Phyllis, in Chicago.
