Paul Melvin Wilkerson, 75, of Burlington, died at 12:54 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004, at his home. Born February 8, 1928, in Burlington, he was the son of Fred and Bertha Leidig Wilkerson. On January 24, 1953, he married Marjorie Irene Swank in Burlington. She died November 11, 1980. He then married Esther Snyder in 1980. She died in 1997. He then married Frances Molter in 1997. Mr. Wilkerson worked at Embalming Burial Case Company for 21 years and as Aspen Grove Cemetery's grounds keeper for 17 years before his retirement in 1993. He was a 1945 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a member of West Hill Methodist Church. He was raised by foster parent Sadie Hall Rezab from age 4. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, old movies, history, reading, flower gardening, eating out, browsing antique shops, all kinds of music and the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife. Besides his first two wives, he was preceded in death by his foster parents. Friends may call after 8 a.m. on Monday at Prugh's Chapel. Graveside Committal Services for Mr. Wilkerson will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Geove Cemetery. A memorial has been estalbished for Great River Medical Center Hospice.
